Mission & Vision

What started as a support group for LGBTQ youth in Napa in early spring 2010, grew into a comprehensive initiative serving thousands of people of all ages and growing LGBTQ youth leadership across the region. As both a hub of LGBTQ information and a thriving center of the community, the project increases awareness and visibility.

OUR VISION

LGBTQ Connection envisions communities that are renowned for being LGBTQ-friendly and welcoming—ones that are healthy, safe, and fully inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and “questioning” people and that have visible, diverse and vibrant LGBTQ communities.

OUR MISSION

LGBTQ Connection is dedicated to creating a culturally diverse and informed community that amplifies the voices of queer and trans youth, peers and elders.   By providing culturally based community events and socials, Best Practices Trainings, youth leadership teams, QTBIPOC art councils, and 1:1 support we embrace a decolonized approach that promotes radical justice and celebrates communal solidarity by disrupting colonial power structures and processes.   We acknowledge that challenging colonial systems while existing within them brings about ongoing frustrations, tribulations and disappointments, thus we are committed to the growth and praxis of building strong relationships based on trust, transparency, knowledge/resource sharing and accessibility for the livelihood and well-being of QTBIPOC, disabled and LGBTQ+ people.
