It’s Pride month, and one of the things we’re most proud of is all that we have accomplished with and for our communities, especially our work that focuses on listening to and lifting up underrepresented LGBTQ voices. For the last few years you've invested in this important work and helped us win on Give Out Day, the national day of giving to LGBTQ causes.

Es el mes del Orgullo, y una de las cosas de las que estamos más orgullosos es todo lo que hemos logrado con y para nuestras comunidades, especialmente nuestros esfuerzos de escuchar y apoyar a voces subrepresentadas. Durante los últimos años has invertido en este importante trabajo y nos has ayudado a ganar en Give Out Day, el día nacional de contribuir a causas LGBTQ.

LGBTQ Connection was founded with the goal of listening to and lifting up underrepresented LGBTQ voices, changing unjust systems, and investing in community leadership--especially with our youth, people of color, elders, transgender people, and people from rural areas. Today, we recommit ourselves to those values, to continue to be in relationship with our communities, and to let our actions speak as loud as our words.

LGBTQ Connection fue fundado con la meta de escuchar y apoyar a la gente que no tiene mucha representación, de cambiar sistemas injustos, y de invertir en liderazgo comunitario--especialmente con nuestxs jóvenes, con gente de color, gente de la tercera edad, gente transgénero, y gente de los áreas rurales. Hoy, nos comprometemos nuevamente con esos valores y a aprender a vivir en mejor solidaridad con las vidas negras. También comprometemos a continuar la relación que tenemos con nuestras comunidades, y que nuestras acciones hablen para nosotrxs.

We know how unsettled the world feels right now, and wish we could just organize a huge community celebration to bring us all together to say things will be okay. Until it is safe for us to do that, we wanted you to know what we do have going on in support of community:

Ian will be hosting a one-hour informal Zoom check-in meeting at 10:30 AM on Tuesday April 21.  If there is enough interest, we’ll continue the Zoom check-ins on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month until we’re through these difficult times.  

Sections of the internationally celebrated AIDS Memorial Quilt – the 54-ton, handmade tapestry that stands as a memorial to more than 700,000 lost to AIDS in the United States– will be on view on December 1, 2019 at the Community Center in Yountville, CA from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This free community display of The AIDS Memorial Quilt is done in partnership with the Town of Yountville and LGBTQ Connection.

LGBTQ Connection is pleased to offer their LGBTQ Best Practices Training on Wednesday, October 20th from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm at Synergy located at 3421 Villa Lane, Napa, CA 94558. Our trainers are bilingual and can answer questions in English or Spanish, but this training will be held in English.

October is LGBTQ History Month and National Bullying Prevention month and we’ve got two great easy opportunities for you to show support for LGBTQ youth.
