Toasting Laurage Jane Grace

On Saturday evening, Dec. 27, City Winery at the Napa Valley Opera House will be donating a portion of the food/beverage sales at the evening show to LGBTQ Connection! So, keep that in mind if you are attending the show, which might be of particular interest to supporters of our work.

If you haven't yet heard of the show, here are some details:
Laura Jane Grace with Billy the Kid and Dave Dondero.

Laura Jane Grace is a major figure in today's rock scene and the lead singer of the band Against Me!, which she founded in Naples, Florida, in the late 1990s. She has made one solo album and six albums with Against Me!, including 2014's critically acclaimed "Transgender Dysphoria Blues." Formerly known as Tom Gabel, Grace went public with her gender transition in 2012, a story she has shared in the pages of Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan and other numerous publications.

In her latest music, she continues to detail her journey all while staying true to her earlier themes of outspoken political critique, environmentalism and personal and social liberation, with a base in American music, including country and folk-rock, and a penchant for noise and anarchy.

Grace recently celebrated the release of her AOL original docu-series titled “True Trans With

Laura Jane Grace” and was recently honored as one of OUT Magazine's "OUT 100" for 2014. She is currently putting the finishing touches on her highly anticipated memoir that will be published in 2015. Grace is now currently based in Chicago.

Opening artists are Billy the Kid and Dave Dondero.

I hope you can attend and toast to Laura Jane Grace -- and to a more vibrant, welcoming and safe community for us all!
